Transmedia and New Literacies Activities Objective. By successfully completing this lab, students should be able to:

• Consider how reading (online) and writing (digitally and collaboratively) are new literacies to be taught in school.
• Reflect on collaborative video and multimedia/ Transmedia storytelling as part of lesson planning and instructional design.

Activity Guide:

1. Together in your class video group, create a storyboard or plan for the message and video you want to produce.
2. In class, use the 2.5 hours to organize and produce for final editing your video essay on an issue or take-away from 1 of your EPSY module topics.
3. Be prepared to present you completed video in the follow class.
4. Post your final video to a private YouTube channel or just upload it to the HuskyCT forum on Multimedia “Go Public”
5. Reflect on the value of multimedia and transmedia storytelling and how it might dovetail with UDL principles
