Schools' responses to COVID-19 have highlighted the topic of teaching and learning online. While seeking many of the same student learning outcomes, teaching and learning are different at a distance. What are the new skills and new literacies of digital reading and writing? How can teachers be effective at a distance and how can they support students to be self regulated learners? How can they stay connected with their students and support content learning as well as social-emotional learning? How can teacher adopt teaching best practices beyond teaching as telling when online? How can teachers support parents in being home schoolers of several learners at different levels all in the same place? In short, what does "wise integration" of tech look like if it is not simply training on how to work specific hardware, software, and mobile apps?
